Here are a couple of photos from yesterday as promised
These are my second cousins (the ladies), their husbands and one son. They are relatives on my father's side of the family
Second cousins Maria and Anna.
Fr. Jan Pilko and my second cousins on my mother' side of the family...the Cuper side.
This is the Fedor Cuper family. I believe this is my grandfather's brother.
So today were more visits to family in the villages. We stopped in Chmelova to visit Milka Denisova and had a lovely lunch with her. After that we visited with my cousin Jozef Tkach and his wife Anna in Stebnik. Todd had the chance to see the old house that they have restored. It was the house my grandmother was born in. He also had the chance to share six (yes six...count them) shots of Slivovice in an hour with Jozef. Todd is quickly learning the ins and outs of visiting relatives here...eat and drink..repeat...eat and drink...repeat...keep repeating until you go to bed at night. Begin once again in the morning.
We stopped at home before dinner and took a quick walk around the Centrum so that Todd could see it during the daytime. We had a beer in one of the quaint courtyards and then headed out to meet Joe and Anna Jurista for dinner at the Salas Lesna. We enjoyed a two hour plus visit and overstayed our welcome at the restaurant as they closed half an our before we left!!!
Here are some photos from the day.
The view of Stebnik from where my maternal grandmother's house was.
The house my paternal grandmother was born in. The white part is the house...the brown part is the barn.
My cousin Jozef Tkach and his wife Anna doing shots of Slivo.
Beer in the courtyard.
The most beautiful place on earth...Bardejov!
Tomorrow morning we will leave Bardejov and head to Krakow for a day followed by a restful day in the Tatra mountains. After the wedding on Saturday we take Todd to Kosice for his flight home and Nina and return back to Bardejov for another several days.
Until tomorrow...
